Chelsey Peat,
Community Engagement Coordinator
Chelsey joined SAIPA in December 2024 as Community Engagement Coordinator. With over twenty years of experience in philanthropy, volunteerism, and non profit organizations, she brings a wealth of experience and dedication in developing programs and fostering connections that promote inclusion and advocacy for individuals with disabilities. As a facial differences advocate and social media influencer, Chelsey actively promotes diversity, acceptance, and face equality. She holds certifications in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility, complementing her academic pursuits in Sociology and Women and Gender Studies at Athabasca University. Chelsey is dedicated to supporting individuals in navigating and overcoming barriers while creating opportunities for empowerment. Passionate about building strong relationships within the Lethbridge community, Chelsey is eager to contribute to SAIPA’s mission of advocacy and awareness.
Leah Dormaar,
Executive Director
Leah joined SAIPA in January 2023. She worked previously in the oil industry, health and safety, coal mining, and more recently in supportive housing, disability, and domestic violence advocacy. Leah brings her passion for advocacy from her tremendous experience supporting others to be engaged and empowered citizens in our community. You might recognize Leah from the many committees she has participated on in the City of Lethbridge.
Anna Liberty,
Advocacy Coordinator
Anna joined SAIPA in September 2024. She has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the U of L, and since then has dove headfirst into disability support services. She has previously worked at many of the support agencies within Lethbridge, and is now enthusiastic to continue to advocate for others here at SAIPA.
Doug Manderville,
Community Engagement Coordinator
Doug joined SAIPA in January of 2024. He has over 20 years experience in the non-profit sector working with Spinal Cord Injury Alberta (SCI AB). Doug worked with individuals with physical disabilities to transition from rehabilitation centres to communities throughout Alberta. Acting as an advocate for those with disabilities, promoting programs and services and raising awarenes on the barriers faced by persons with disabilities, Doug is thrilled to bring his experience and passion to the SAIPA Team.
